Coffee grows well in the shade, but over the past 10 years, growers discovered that they could grow without it. Many of the shade trees have been removed to plant more coffee trees. Production inncreased, but in reality, quality went down. High grown arabicas need moderate amounts of sun and shade provides that. Shade grown coffees have more to offer the coffee drinker than their non shaded counterparts, and shade trees are home to many birds. Save the birds, be friendly to the envirnoment and frink great coffee!
Shade Grown Colombian Labranza
